About Me

I'm Jeff, a Lead Engineer based in Pittsburgh. I've been engineering web based solutions for twelve years now, and received my B.S. in Computer Science from UCF in 2020. I have a variety of experience in government and in the information security industry.

I've worked at every layer of that and I find the tradeoffs at each level genuinely interesting, especially the ones that cost an evening or weekend.

I'll share real problems: things that broke in production, decisions I'd have made differently if I could make them over again, tools that earned their place, and tools that could't. I'll be sharing practical guides and checklists for problems that have come up for me, that I know will come up for you.

I'll write about the human side of engineering — what it means to build things for people, to work with fellow engineers, and to make decisions that outlast the context they were made in. I'll share with you the greatest lesson I've learned: you cannot do it alone, nor should you.
